During that time, he worked with difficult youth in an effort to reduce recidivism through treatment of various issues, including self harm behavior, aggression, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and substance use issues, among others. Monte worked in various roles in this setting, including counselor, treatment coordinator, and program manager.
Monte completed his Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Washington in 2016, with a practice emphasis on mental health. Monte has been applying Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in an inpatient setting with juveniles for over 10 years. Monte relocated to Central Oregon in 2018 and has practiced in community mental health and hospital settings in Prineville and Bend, respectively. He continues to apply various approaches in therapeutic interventions, including Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Monte has experience addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, suicidal ideation, psychosis, grief, addiction, and others with various behavioral approaches, often in coordination with medication management, group therapy, and consultation.
In his free time, Monte enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, working on projects at home, attending church activities, playing guitar, listening to good music, and learning new things.
